Pay: $68,000 - $74,000 Annually

Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Monitor and ensure accuracy, compliance, and uniformity in intake team operations.
  • Provide supervision and direction to Intake Coordinators.
  • Manage performance of individuals through regular communication and feedback.
  • Review and approve employees’ time records.
  • Coordinates with HR to recruit, interview, and hire qualified staff.
  • Counsel staff and conduct disciplinary actions as appropriate up to and including termination.
  • Educate internal departments on provider billing guidelines and procedures, including developing and maintaining training information.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations of intake staff in accordance with companies’ policies.
  • Recognize, review, and implement new processes within the department to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Coordinates cross training within department and with other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Intake department, Utilization Review and Revenue Cycle teams to identify and improve procedures.
  • Distributes financial and operational reports and projects to complete efficiently.
  • Review authorization reports with staff and provide coaching to meet census goals.
  • Provide payer information updates to staff as needed.
  • Stays current on Medicaid/Medicare Services payment methodology for all entities.
  • Monitor KPI report for outstanding issues with the residential and outpatient sites.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge of third-party payer requirements including federal, state, and private health care plans and authorization process.
  • A minimum of one to two years’ experience in a supervisory position, preferred
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Identifies and implements problems to solutions.
  • A minimum of one-year freedom from chemical use problems
  • Must know and understand the implication of Minnesota Statute 245G, and Minnesota Statutes, chapter 245A (Human Services Licensing Act-HSLA), sections 626.556 (Maltreatment of Minors Act-MOMA), 626.557 (Vulnerable Act-VAA), and 626.5572 (VAA definitions).
Preferred:
  • Strong knowledge of third-party payer requirements.
  • Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate abstract concepts in a simple format.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize work; detail oriented
  • Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities.
  • Computer skills to draft emails, memos, and reporting.
