Responsibilities

The following duties are routine for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.  
• Provide for a clean and safe environment.  
• Attend mandatory staff training and meetings.  
• Monitor housekeeping inventory and for inventory waste.  
• Attend staff in services and meetings.  
• Paraprofessionals may not admit, transfer, or discharge clients. They may be directed to follow through with the process of implementation of the above by the director or designee.
• Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

Certifications / Licenses: 

  • Possess a valid driver license. 

  • CPR and first aid certified. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or older. 

  • Be able to work independently and/or as a team player. 

  • Must have one year continuing freedom from chemical use problems. 

  • Must know and understand all rules, regulations, and requirements of the assigned program 

  • Strong verbal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of people from diverse cultures, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. 

  • Flexibility to meet a variety of changing priorities 

  • Computer skills for reporting time entries. 

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Social Security Verification: Name must match Social Security number and date of birth 

  • Criminal Background Check: Nationwide, federal, state, and multi-county (up to 7 years) 

  • Drug and Alcohol Testing: Must pass pre-employment screening; subject to random and post-incident testing if in a safety-sensitive role 

  • Employment Verification 

  • Education Verification 

  • Department of Human Services clearance  

  • Motor Vehicle Driving Record review if necessary 

WORKING CONDITIONS / WORKING REQUIREMENTS 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Lifting: Up to 50 pounds, client luggage, supplies, cleaning 

  • Standing: Up to 8 hours per day 

  • Stair climbing: Most facilities, up to 20% of time 

  • Driving: Cars and 15 passenger vans, average 2-4 hours per day, up to 8 hours per day 

  • Sitting: Varies, 2 hours 

  • Reaching: 2 hours per day unless driving 

  • Bending: 10% of time 

  • Squatting: 10% of time 

  • Walking: Up to 8 hours per day 

  • Cleared Mantoux Screen 

Work Environment: 

  • Work is performed across multiple EOSIS treatment sites or intake settings 

  • Fast-paced healthcare environment with varying program structures 

  • Frequent interaction with clients experiencing substance use and mental health challenges 

  • Requires flexibility to support multiple programs, locations, and changing priorities
